A Good Yarn

It is with great pleasure I welcome our newest addition to the Federation Media team, Yann Jourdan. Yann initially joined FM as a contractor the day after the Rugby World Cup Final - a brave move considering he’s a Frenchie, but he made it immediately clear he wasn’t rugby-mad like the rest of New Zillund and swiftly made himself an indispensable part of the team.
"...keep an eye out for him pounding the pavement or sporting his budgie smugglers..."
After spending 15 years of his childhood in the South Pacific in tropical Tahiti and New Caledonia, Yann packed his bags and ventured back to his motherland to study business, specialising in Marketing for Luxury Brands. From here, his passion for new media and technology lead him to down the path of website development where he found himself working as a Marketing Manager for a web portal dedicated to the luxury industry.
Next, Yann had a hankering to put his entrepreneurial skills into action and left his post to create his own web agency, which he ran very successfully for five years out of Paris. But after 20 years in the City of Love the South Pacific began calling. God’s Own was a natural choice for a new home as he was hoping to improve his English (he says it’s basic but he’s rather modest).
After a brief appearance on some local show called Shortland Street, Yann got stuck in at FM in the form of Project Manager, also bringing valuable skills to produce HTML templates for websites, Facebook Apps and eDM. His continued passion for digital technology, open source and how these technologies can create new business is a welcomed asset to our team, and we look forward to sharing Yann’s digital nous with you.
If you don’t cross paths Yann in our office over the coming weeks, keep an eye out for him pounding the pavement or sporting his budgie smugglers as he attempts to get himself into shape for the Harbour Crossing or the Rangitoto swim later this year – good luck for that Yann and welcome to the team!
