"In a nutshell, it’s a ‘private’ share. Because some things are private."
The world is changing and social media has the bull by the horns so to speak. If you’re ready to strap in for the ride too, we’ve created ‘Social Bunny Tips’ right here on the FM blog as your monthly one-stop-shop for social media tips to keep you on the edge of the latest trends and what’s new. The band wagon is departing, don’t get left behind.

Facebook Send Button:

Hot on the heels of their successful ‘Like’ button, social media giant Facebook have announced the introduction of the ‘Send’ button. After just one year out in the big wide world, Facebook’s Like button has gone gang-busters, popping up on millions of websites and lord knows how many billion individual pages reaching every corner of the interweb. But for those of you who weren’t particularly keen to share that present for your mother in law or those scalped tickets to see Britney on TradeMe by hitting the Like button, stress less, Facebook’s Send button has come to the rescue.

The new Send button has been designed to be used alongside the Like button. By including both on your website, users will have to option to hit ‘Like’ (which posts a link to your wall and will be seen on your friend’s newsfeed) or alternatively click the ‘Send’ button to send a private Facebook message with the page link to a special someone, a group of friends or an individual’s email. Unlike the ‘Like’ button, the ‘Send’ button is a completely private way of sharing pages you like.

Perhaps the best feature of the shiny new Send button is that users don’t need to leave the webpage they’re on or complete a tedious form. The Send button has far fewer required steps compared to the alternatives as well as removing the need to look up email addresses by auto-suggesting friends and groups.

Until next time,
